Training Update

I’ve just finished a workout with Mark. Due to my painful running experience this weekend, we decided to push ourselves with a CV boxing circuit:

1 Min Squats
3 Min Boxing
1 Min Abs
3 Minutes Boxing
1 Min Pressups
3 Mins Boxing
1 Min Squats
3 Min Boxing
1 Min Abs
3 Minutes Boxing
1 Min Pressups
3 Mins Boxing
1 Min Squats
3 Min Boxing
1 Min Abs
3 Minutes Boxing
1 Min Pressups
3 Mins Boxing

Pretty tough. For an added bonus, Mark decided to throw in a curve-ball in the last four rounds and insist we had to spend the last 30 seconds of each boxing round in constant punching. As hard as we could manage. 30 seconds of continuous hard punching is brutal. I can attest to that.

Dive, Dive, Dive

Got back into the water today. Been ages.

It was good. I’m as tired as I used to be. I’m as sore as I used to be as well.

P, Didier and I headed out to Pettico wick beach. It’s a nice wee site next to St Abbs with a fairly easy entrance to the water. The problem with the site is the walk to the water! You get to do a nice scramble down a eroded hill in full kit. Not as nice as it sounds.

The first dive was good. We covered a lot of ground. Lots of nice squishy stuff on the walls and P managed to find the wreck (ie. boiler).

The second dive was a bit less exciting. Actually it was pretty fucking boring. But, at the end of the day, if you’re in the water it’s a good day.

Good to be back.

Training Update

Good workout tonight. Mark and went out around 18:15 and did an hour’s worth:

4.3 Mile run – new route around Granton, up to Ferry road and back down Craighall. Brutal up-hill bit took the wind out of both of us but we pressed it home.

3X 1 min Squats
3X 1 min Abs
3X 1 min Press-Ups

We’re boxing on Saturday as well.

Excellent effort last night on the squash court. I was playing MP for the third time and managed to win 3-1. That made me happy as I felt I was a bit slower than normal, but my shot selection was a lot better. He’s a quick guy, and he’s going to be a great player as his stamina and fitness is really high.

But I won.

Should be running tonight and doing some circuits. Oof. My legs need a break!

Training Update

I really do have to get better at filling all of this out as I get on with things.

Last night had another good squash workout with DA. I won again, but I can tell it’s only a matter of time before he gets an awful lot fitter and his (far superior) technique gets the better of me. Guess I’d better get a move on those lessons…

I’ve got another match with MP tonight. Our last two have been fantastic – really high energy and very competitive. We’ve both moved up in the leagues, and we’re in the same league again. Should be a tough one.
